If you are thinking of building a new home, you can check whether the builder is registered with NHBRC using the facility below.

In terms of Section 10 (1) of the Housing Consumer Protection Measures Act 95 of 1998, any person in the business of home building must register with NHBRC. No official action should be taken based on information provided via this source. For any official confirmation as to the status of registration, the builder should provide a certificate issued be the Chief Executive Officer of NHBRC. The certificate should be valid for a period of one (1) year.
